The University of St. Francis’ REAL program, in conjunction with the Digital Audio Arts Program invite all music educators to join us this summer for our new Music Production for Educators graduate course (RECT 694). Taught by Dr. Shawn Salmon.
The course is designed for all educators to develop a foundational understanding and effective pedagogy in the use of music technology in the classroom. Aspects of past, present, and future music production technology will be explored and evaluated. Candidates will learn how to incorporate various types of Digital Audio Workstations, MIDI controllers and online music technology resources in lesson design to effectively engage and enhance the student experience in today’s music classroom.
The course is fully-online, running from June 10th – August 2nd 2024.
RECT 694 Music Production for Educators I (3 credit hours)

This 3 credit hour, online course runs 8-weeks long and consists of 8 1-week modules. Each week you will have assignments, discussions, and other requirements that are due by the end of the module. The new module will open the next week repeating this pattern. The key to success is to participate regularly throughout the week at the time of day that works best for you. You will never have to be “live” in class.

This course is running “on special” this summer at $195 per credit hour.
This summer USF is offering a recording camp in our state of the art Digital Audio Recording Arts (DARA) facility. Students will study the architecture of 21st-century music production using audio loops, MIDI composition, and traditional audio capturing utilizing excellent microphones, tracking room, booths, control room, and editing suite.
